Camping
Well, today is the last "day" for me on the internet and blogging for a whole five days. I think it is going to be fun camping again, 'cept for this time Fat Jack is coming along. Well, he isn't really coming with us, he is going with a couple of "friends" of his. Even now I think they aren't going with them (they are the smart ones) and that Jack is going to be camping with us. I think I explained it in an earlier post about the whole predicament with Jack inviting himself. We did manage to leave him completely out of it all and it would be just four of us and he wasn't going to be camping at all. Well, I found out today that his friends most probably will not be camping with him and that he would be following us down to Litchfield and camping with us.
Time for a whine! Some of you may remember, but I did go camping with Nick and Terry earlier this year and that we went for three days down to some river. Either people have forgotten that I have been camping before, but everyone seems to think that I've never been camping and that this is the first time "I'm going to be away from my computer". Now that just isn't cool. I insult people about what they say and all, and they managed to find a "way" to insult me about what I say (that is before I insult myself), but today was just the end of all the snide computer remarks. So what I use computers a lot? Who cares, I like using them, so I continue to. I don't abuse people for something they like to do, like maybe they like to play games all the time. What would happen if those games are replaced by a computer? Isn't that essentially the same thing?
Normally I let comments like that slide by 'cause I'd ignore them and continue on what I was doing, but today was the end of the corn flavoured pickle. Some background info: Daryl, Nick and I were talking about what we forgot when we went shopping yesterday, and everyone around decided they'd put their two cents in and said that we should be taking vegetables and such (Sian and Natalie were saying this), then all of a sudden someone asked how long we were going for and I said for five days.
Natalie: "Oh, so you are going to be away from your computer and internet for that long hey?"
Me: *Blank stare for a few seconds* "That wasn't cool. I hate you now"
Her: "Oh? You didn't already?"
Me: "No." (It was more of a quick, monosyllable 'no', followed by another long blank stare)
Her: *Shocked look and stare at the ground*
By then everyone was listening so they all kind of saw me say I hated her guts. I know that a few other people hate her and that they haven't told her to her face. So hurrah for being the first person to! So yes, I wasn't too happy about other snide remarks the rest of the day.
Moral of the story? People suck.
